The Steppe Forward Chair will hold its 4th Technical Conference, focusing on “Global challenges and experiences in making photovoltaic energy compatible with biodiversity.” This edition introduces an important new feature compared to previous conferences: a more participatory format. The event will give the floor to national and international experts and organizations to present their advances on this topic.
A call for proposals has been launched — open until October 3 — for the submission of research, experiences, or practical case studies to be presented during the conference, which will take place on November 24–25 at the Faculty of Sciences, Autonomous University of Madrid.
The call is aimed at companies and other stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, including energy companies, developers, construction firms, component manufacturers, as well as environmental consultancies, public administration bodies (national, regional, or local), members of the scientific community, and environmental NGOs.
Proposals must address one of the following topics*:

  • New methodological approaches for environmental impact assessments of photovoltaic projects.
  • Mitigation and compensation measures within photovoltaic plants.
  • Compensatory measures outside photovoltaic plants.
(*Within these three areas, the presentation must specify its focus: birds, bats, reptiles, amphibians, arthropods, mammals, vegetation, primary production, microclimate, etc.)

Out of all submitted proposals, the Chair's scientific committee will select 16, which will be presented in 10-minute talks during the event.
Anyone interested in participating can do so within the specified deadline by submitting through the following link:
